Sterotypes in Media

This screenshot is part of a class activity where we had to locate and analyze 10 stereotypical representations of different social groups in the media. In this activity, the objective was to allow us to be knowledgeable regarding the common ways on how the members of different social groups are portrayed in films and television as well as in other media sources. Through the analysis of such stereotypes, we can easily find out whether these are valid or overrepresented. With the help of such an exercise, we gained knowledge of how media representations affect the views of the audience concerning particular social groups based on various considerations.
